What is Accessibility?

Accessibility is the process of making electronic materials perceivable and usable by people with disabilities. Materials (not just websites, but also documents, videos, discussion forums, applications, etc.) are accessibility compliant when they have been structured according to widely recognized specifications.

Accessible content allows people with disabilities, whether permanent or temporary, life-long or acquired, medical or environmental, to utilize content as effectively as people without those disabilities can utilize it.

Accessibility Technology (AT) are tools like screen readers, caption displays, and refreshable braille devices. A lot of what we are doing is making our content work well with all of these tools.
