Lesson 2: Editing Basic Pages: Heading Formats

Many of the functions of CKEditor revolve around formatting content. The first drop-down, Formats, lets you format text as headings from level 2 to level 6 (level 1 is reserved for the page title). Remember that:

  • Headings are for organizing content - they introduce a new section or sub-section. Headings are not to be used to simply make text larger. If the text in question is not introducting anything (e.g. it is just an alert) then use the font size drop down [] to make the font size larger.

  • Headings must be used in order: top-level headings are always level 2, and any sub-topics of them are level 3, with sub-sub-topics at level 4. Never skip levels or start below level 2.
